09.06.2010 CER Monza - Results ... back

For the first time since 2008 CER has returned to the high speed track at Monza. Jean Marc Luco recorded a top speed of 291.1km/h at the speed trap in the first qualifying session.

Philippe Scemama qualified 17th overall and had an excellent start in the race. On lap two he had already improved to 12th overall. He was directly behind John Sheldon and Sandy Watson who finished 3rd and 4th overall at the end of the race. Unluckily he was forced to stop the Sauber C5 at Lesmo on lap 4 very likely due to a problem on the ignition system.

George Tuma and Philipp Brunn had an excellent weekend. The team worked hard on the setup of the car. The Porsche 3.0 RSR qualified 1st in class (30th overall out of 47 cars). George started the race and kept all other GT1 cars behind him. On lap 10 Bernard Moreau had closed the gap and managed to overtake the RSR. On the next lap George fought back and got into the GT1 lead again. Philipp took over on lap 14 and managed to build up a lead over B. Moreau. The RSR finally finished 1st in the GT1 class and surprisingly 8th overall.
