The second event of the CER Series took the teams to the famous track of Spa Francorchamps. More than 50 cars were on the grid, including Ferrari 712, Porsche 908 Coupe, Sauber C5, Lola T70, Porsche RSR, ...

After a troubling start into the season, the weekend was more successful. George Tumas 3.0 RSR ran trouble free, qualifying in the mid of the field of eight 911 RS / RSR. George was then slowed down in the race due to a misfire. For the next race some improvements on the car will be made to get some extra speed.

The Sauber C5 made good improvements compared to Barcelona. The rebuilt engine ran very well. Some changes to springs and wing setting improved the handling significantly. Highlight was a third place overall in the first qualifying session, quickest car with 2 liter engine. During the race a problem on the gear selector slowed the Sauber down. John Sheldon and Philipp Brunn had an interesting battle for sixth place in the second half of the race.

For the race at Algarve the gearbox of the Sauber will be made reliable. Some changes to further improve the performance will also be made.
